Jean Blanche Ferder

January 30, 1947 ~ December 7, 2017 (age 70) 70 Years Old

Jean Blanche Ferder (nee Schell) passed away suddenly after a lengthy illness on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the Swan Valley Lodge, at the age of 70 years.

Jean was born on January 30, 1947 in Kamsack.  She received her education in the Pelly area.

In the winter of 1966, Jean married Peter Ferder and they lived briefly in Quesnel, British Columbia, Regina, and Norquay before settling down on the Ferder family farm in the spring of 1967 where they raised their four daughters, Jackee, Beverley, Johanne, and Phyllis.

Jean was an active member of the Swan River Seventh Day Adventist Church where she held various offices.

Jean loved living on the farm where she tended a large garden each year, much of which she preserved.

She especially enjoyed the birds and nature and knew which bird it was by listening to them sing. Jean was always thrilled to see the first robin in the spring and would often call to inform us.  She would also watch for the first flock of geese forming their V to head south for the winter.

Jean was predeceased by her husband Peter in 2001; father Milton and mother Blanche; brothers Gilbert and Norman; sisters Violet, Gladys and Edna; father in law Berger; and mother in law Johanna.

Left to mourn are her daughters; Jackee (Mike) of Swan River, Beverley (Allan) of Regina, Johanne (Daryn) of Saskatoon, and Phyllis (Sam) of Durban.  She is survived also by eight grandchildren Jared, Jordan, Joel, Ethan, Serenity, Wynn, Keir and Peter along with four great grandchildren.  Also left to mourn are siblings, Clarence, Albert, Margaret, Hilda, Eileen, Lillian, Joyce, Marilyn, and Louise, along with many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind special sons in law Ed Fedorchuk and Brian Likness.
