Juliette Nepinak Obituary

Juliette Nepinak

1956 – 2019

On Sunday, March 3, 2019, Juliette Nepinak slipped peacefully away at the age of 62 years old while surrounded by her loved ones.

Juliette was born in Winnipegosis, Manitoba, to Raphael Nepinak and Marie Louise Chartrand, on December 15, 1956. She was raised and lived in Pine Creek First Nation. It was here that she met Raymond Mekish, and through their 48 years of life together, they raised three children Logan, Dwayne, and Stacy.

Over the years, Juliette worked at McKay’s store and at the Health Office as coordinator for the Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative and the Canadian Prenatal Nutrition Programs. It was during this time that Juliette attended training at ACC in Dauphin.

Juliette was involved in fundraising and organizing bingos for the Pine Creek Minor Hockey League. One of her favourite past times was driving her sons and grandsons to hockey games and practices. There was never a distance that was too far for her to travel. In her earlier years, Juliette was also active in hockey and baseball. She enjoyed playing bingo, VLTs, and cards with her family and friends. She also enjoyed celebrating Christmas and birthdays with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. As well as sewing star blankets for them.

Juliette is survived by her spouse, Raymond; her children Logan (Pamela), Dwayne, and Stacy (Danita); her brother Michael; and sisters Matilda, Agnes, Susan, Beatrice, Yvonne, and Delores; her grandchildren Dean, Chelsea, Tyler, Brooke, Taylor, Macie, RJ, Samantha, Joseph, Andrew, Santana, and Chezleigh; her great grandchildren Malaya, Ashton, Malachy, and Deshawn. She also leaves to cherish her memory numerous in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

To welcome Juliette in her spiritual life are her parents Raphael and Marie Louise; brothers Andrew, Lawrence, Francis, Albert, and Walter; her sister Rose; and grandson Logan Jr.

Juliette will be lovingly remembered by her great sense of humour and laughter. Thank you for all your love and support.
