Kenneth Hather Obituary

Kenneth Hather

1985 – 2018

On September 19, 2018 Kenneth Marlon Hather formerly of Red Deer Lake, Manitoba passed away at the age of 33 years.

Kenneth Marlon Hather was born on May 23, 1985 in Swan River, Manitoba. Ken attended school in Barrows, Manitoba. He then went on to school in Swan River. At the age of nine Kenny was in a hunting accident that left him paralyzed from the chest down. Being in the wheelchair didn’t stop Kenny from anything. He went on a few joyrides, just ask his Uncle Jimmy and brother Giles. Kenny grew up in Red Deer Lake where he sat on the Local Council for a few years. Kenny lived in Swan River for a few years before relocating to Tisdale, Saskatchewan in 2012.

On November 5, 2012 Kenny became a very proud uncle to his “Boss Man” Bryerson. He loved his Boss a lot. Kenny also talked about his Boss Man and they took many selfies together.

Everyone you talk to all say the same thing that Kenny was a very kind, caring, giving person. He had a heart of gold. He would give his last of anything if you needed it. He loved his family and would always try to have get togethers, always had words of advice for you if you needed it, always had a smile on his face.

Kenny loved his sports but especially baseball. He travelled to a few places over the past couple of years to watch his brothers; Rodney and Kevin, along with Uncle William, his cousin Blair play fastball. He also had his own slow pitch team “Red Hawks”. He also loved to play cards, Texas Hold’em.

Kenny leaves to mourn his mom, Anita Quill; step dad, Wilfred Quill of Tisdale, Saskatchewan; dad, Herman Cook (Camilla) of Mafeking, Manitoba; brother Rodney Hather (Amy) of Key First Nation, Saskatchewan, Mitchell Quill of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Kevin (Rhonda) Hather of Prince Albert, Herman Cook Jr. (Courtney) of Mafeking, Joseph Cook of Mafeking, Giles Cook of Green Water, Saskatchewan; sisters, Brittany Quill of Key First Nation, Delores Genaille (George) of Swan River, Manitoba, Vicky Cook of Winnipeg, Manitoba; most of all his “Boss Man” Bryerson Hather; his BFFs, Morgan Clark, Barb Desjarlais, Mikey Keshane, twenty-three nieces and nephews, one great grandniece, as well as all his family, friends and ball team family.

He was predeceased by grandparents, Ken and Leona Hather, Brisine Cook; auntie Pricilla Hather; brother Leonard Hather; cousins Beverly Chartrand, George Crane Jr.; best friend Arnold Chartrand; and nephew Ryerson Hather.

A wake was held on September 26, 2018 starting at 1:00 p.m. from the Barrows Community Hall. The funerals service was held on September 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. also from the Barrows Community Hall.
