Lois Violet McCullough

January 29, 1957 ~ September 5, 2017 (age 60) 60 Years Old
Lois Violet McCullough
1957 - 2017

It is with great sadness and love that we say goodbye to Lois Violet McCullough, who passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at the age of 60 years, at the Swan Valley Health Centre.

Lois, the youngest child of Doris and the late Cecil McCullough was born on January 29, 1957 at the Swan River Hospital.

Lois leaves to mourn her mother, Doris of Benito, Manitoba; her three brothers, Brian (Linda), David (Helen), Jim (Brenda) all of Durban, Manitoba; her two sisters, Patricia (Victor) Luther of Regina, Saskatchewan and Maureen (Leslie) Kushniryk of Benito; aunt, Violet Peters of Kitchener, Ontario; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Lois was predeceased by her father, Cecil in 1999; her grandparents, Ella and Randolph McCullough, Charolette and John Phillips of England; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Lois was a special child who was loved by all who knew her. Her smile lit up the room and the smallest things would make her squeal with delight. Lois' greatest pleasures in life were yodelling Wilf Carter, and sandwiches and tea. She loved to sharpen pencils until there was nothing left to sharpen. She was handy with scissors cutting all the corners off lottery tickets and $5 bills. She was especially fond of babies and was so happy to meet each of her newborn nephews and nieces when placed on her lap with big hugs, kisses, and squeezes. Lois kept herself busy by keeping us busy and was loved by all.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Lois started to reside in the Benito Personal Care Home in Mary 2007 until her untimely passing.

The family would like to thank Dr. Adegboyega, Dr. Mousavi, nurses and staff at the Swan Valley Health Centre, special thanks to the Benito Personal Care Home staff and home care workers that showed so much love and compassion.

A private family graveside service and interment was held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Durban Cemetery with Jim Webster officiating.

When We Lost You
We wish we could see you one more time
Come walking through the door
But we know that is impossible
We will hear your voice no more
We know you can feel our tears
And you don't want us to cry
Yet our hearts are broken
Because we can't understand
Why someone so precious had to die.
We pray that God will give us strength
And somehow get us through
As we struggle with this heartache
That came when we lost you.
