Matthew Guiboche
1983 – 2019
On July 19, 2019, Matthew Paul Joseph Guiboche passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Health Science Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 36. Matthew was born at St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, on January 31, 1983.
He worked for various employers in Swan River. He mostly enjoyed painting since he was young and painted for various employers. He enjoyed going quading and skidooing with the whole family, fishing, hunting, archery, and trapping with his Grandpa Joe Guiboche. He liked going to Mom and Gerald Strasser’s place for mommy home cooked meals that he loved so much. He loved also his homemade chicken and pizza, always ate milk and cookies, candy (chocolate the best), and Chinese food. He was very good at fixing bicycles. He road like Johnny Knoxville. He had no fear. He loved pets, especially dogs. Matthew had a very good knowledge of the wilderness; self-taught and by Grandpa Joe and uncles. He knew how to drive and he like to drive antique trucks around town to drive family when needed. He loved music of all sorts. He danced when no one was looking and helpful to parents, to grandparents, and family and friends. He will be sadly missed but not forgotten. “He believed in love, laugh, live.”
Matthew is predeceased by his sister, Deena Guiboche-Bell; son Lucas; and daughter Neveah Cutlip-Guiboche. He is survived by Debra Guiboche and Jerry Stresser; his biological father Paul Joseph Ferland; brothers Terry Guiboche and Tyrone Guiboche (twins), Dean Jr. Guiboche- Bell, and Nikko Guiboche; sisters Andrea Guiboche, Delilah Guiboche, Samm-Jo Guiboche; only one son Isiah; and numerous nieces, nephews, uncles and aunties.
An evening service was held on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Swan Valley Funeral Services. The funeral service was held on Friday August 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Swan Valley Funeral Services, Swan River, Manitoba. Interment followed in the Birchwood Cemetery with Pastor Magnar Bremnes officiating.
