Muriel Makarchuk

1939 – 2019

On May 13, 2019 Muriel Makarchuk passed away at the Swan River Valley Personal Care Home at the age of 79 years.

Muriel is survived by her two daughters, Bonnie Makarchuk of Calgary, Alberta and Wendy (Dave) Makarchuk of Calgary, Alberta; sisters Audrey (Harvey) Harbarenko of Delta, British Columbia and Sharon (George) Wagner of Roblin, Manitoba.

Muriel was predeceased by her husband Alex and parents Pete and Mary (Bobby) Yaschuk.

Muriel would always give to others before she gave to herself. She loved her children and husband unconditionally. She was a mother figure not only to her own children but to many others. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning fruits and vegetables for winter. No one ever left Muriel’s home hungry. She was also very involved in her church, cooking, cleaning, and fall suppers.

The family would like to thank the Personal Care Home and her many dear friends that visited and cared for Muriel during her stay.

A graveside service was held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David Johnson officiating.

Should friends so desire, donations in Muriel’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
