Adeline Jean McQuay

September 23, 1942 – June 26, 2020

On June 26, 2020, Adeline McQuay of Swan River, Manitoba passed away at the age of 77 years.

She is survived by her loving husband Wilson McQuay and seven children, Pat Fisher of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Greg Fisher of Winnipeg, Sheryl Woidak (Rick) of Prince George, British Columbia, Robert Fisher of Winnipeg, Alan McQuay (Rose) of Red Deer, Alberta, Bruce McQuay (Carla) of Red Deer, Colleen McQuay of Barrie, Ontario; sister Beverly Bewcyk (Oliver) of Winnipeg;  sister in law Joan Brown of The Pas, Manitoba; fourteen grandchildren of which two were adopted; seven great grandchildren; and four nieces and nephews.

Adeline was predeceased by her mother and father Percey and Lena Drebit of Winnipeg; a nephew Terry Bewcyk of Winnipeg; and brother in law Doug Brown of The Pas.

Adeline was born September 23, 1942 in Grandview, Manitoba. She took her schooling in Grandview. Over the years she had many jobs besides looking after children at home. She was a very good homemaker.

Adeline had four children from a previous marriage and then she married Wilson McQuay on July 25, 1981 and acquired three more children. She loved them all as her children. They spent forty happy years together.

Adeline spent many hours knitting and crocheting, also making blankets for grandchildren. She was also a very successful gardener and spent many hours preserving the produce. Adeline was best known for her perogies and they ended up far and wide. Whenever children came to visit, they usually got a favourite dish that they liked. Adeline spent many years as treasurer for the Royal Purple.

Adeline will be sadly missed and always remembered by her husband, children, grandchildren and friends. We love you and miss you, love Wilson, children, and grandchildren. Rest in peace. -The McQuay family
