Angilina Hart Obituary

Our hearts are saddened to say Goodbye to our Granny.

Angilina passed away peacefully at Swan River Hospital on October 16, 2021 at the age of 91 1/2.  Angilina was born to Anna and Andrew Meroniuk in Sturgis Saskatchewan on March 1st, 1930.  She grew up in Saskatchewan and later moved to the Swan River area to work.

She met and married Oscar Hart and they went on to have five children.  First came Lyle followed by Carol, Patricia, David, and Dennis.  Mom worked various jobs; she was a custodian for the school division for 25 years before she retired.  She also had various side businesses, she painted many homes in the valley and she was also a house cleaner.

Her door was always opened to anyone who wanted a cup of coffee, a meal or even a friendly game of cards.  Granny was the world’s greatest cook!  She made the best cabbage rolls in the world.  Her family also loved her sauerkraut, shortbread cookies and most of all her warm fresh bread and homemade Jam.

Granny loved many things in life, her many flowers, her garden and visiting with her many friends, but most of all Granny loved being around her many grandchildren.  Granny had a love for baseball and was even the captain of a baseball team in her younger years, she was the best pitcher around!  She shared that love with her grandchildren and would often be the pitcher for the baseball games with the grandchildren on her front lawn.  Granny was also a teacher, a teacher of love, a teacher of compassion, a teacher of baking and cooking, and a teacher of life lessons.  Every single grandchild, great grandchild and great - great grandchild learned something from Granny, lessons that will never be forgotten but will always be cherished.

Left to cherish her wonderful memories are her children, Carol (Bill) Kroets, Patricia (Dave) Lyster, David Hart and Dennis (Carolyn) Hart.  She had eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great - great grandchildren.  Her brother Johnny (Eileen) Meroniuk and her sisters Caroline and Stella.  She also had many nieces and nephews and family in the Ukraine.

Granny was predeceased by her husband Oscar Hart; son Lyle Hart; daughter-in-law Margaret Hart; her parents Anna and Andrew Meroniuk; brothers George, Alex, Metro, Nick, Victor and Peter; sisters Mary, Victoria, Medora and Elaine.

A private viewing was held at Swan Valley Funeral Services, Chapel Friday, October 22, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. and a family graveside service was take place at the Minitonas Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.  With Pastor Rob Falk officiating.
