Ann was born October 18, 1929 at home in the Pelly district to Hafia and William Zeleny.  She attended Devonshire School near Pelly, Saskatchewan, where she completed her grade nine education.  The family then relocated to Preeceville where Ann started working at an egg candling plant. She met Martin in 1946 at a district dance and they were married on October 30, 1948, in Canora, Saskatchewan, where they started their life together near Kenville, Manitoba.  They were blessed with two children daughter Sylvia in 1951and son Gary in 1955.

Ann was a busy mom and farmer’s wife, milking cows, raising chickens and shipping & selling eggs and cream to The Pas and Flin Flon, she also enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, and making the best pierogis. She could always be found volunteering at her local church making those pierogis for sales and rodeo time.  She also loved to travel, taking trips to Nashville, Branson, British Columbia, Banff, Calgary, Minot and Parts of Saskatchewan.  Ann cherished most of all the time she spent with her family and friends. Martin and Ann Farmed until 2007 when they made the difficult decision to sell their beloved farm and move to Swan River, Manitoba.  In 2015 Ann moved to Strasbourg, Saskatchewan to be closer to her daughter Sylvia where she lived until the time of her passing.

We as a family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Last Mountain Pioneer home for all of their care, compassion and love for our mother & grandmother.
