Murray was born on May 27, 1956, in Swan River, Manitoba, where he grew up on his family’s farm with his five siblings.
On September 13, 1980, Murray married Maria Brown (Beauregard Andrade), and together they had two children: a daughter, Veronica, born in 1981, and a son, Charles, born in 1985. Murray was kind and patient; he was a quiet man but would strike up a conversation and talk to anyone, always content to be included in the action. He cherished time with family, took pride in helping his children with home projects, and especially enjoyed his role as a grandfather.
Murray dedicated over 25 years to truck driving, with many additional years in his younger days. He took pride in his work and enjoyed the experience of the open road. Hauling motorcycles and snowmobiles was a career highlight, giving him the chance to ride whenever possible. The job also took him across Canada and the U.S., and one of its greatest perks was that his routes allowed him to visit his daughter and grandchildren in British Columbia more often than he otherwise could have. In the last two years,
Murray found great joy working locally alongside his son, Charles, time together that brought them closer.
Murray appreciated the simple pleasures in life, whether unwinding watching NCIS or building a fire for his grandkids to enjoy. His family finds comfort in the many beautiful memories he leaves behind and in the knowledge that his spirit will remain with them always.
If friends so desire, memorial donations in memory of Murray may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation PO Box 460 STN K Toronto, ON M4P 9Z9.
