Cameron Kobelka Obituary

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our son, brother, uncle, and great uncle Cameron Eugene Kobelka on January 11, 2022.  Cameron was born on October 29, 1970, in the Swan Valley Health Centre.

A little brother to his two older sisters he grew up on the family farm in Lenswood.  Riding bikes, Skidoos and playing by the river. He enjoyed the Lenswood 4H club and all the Father’s Day picnics and playing ball with his friends.

Cam attended school in Birch River and Swan River.  He enjoyed all school sports, plus baseball and hockey and later curled and played old timers’ hockey. After he left school Cam worked in the bush and farmed with his dad before heading off to Alberta to work out there and make new friends.  After a couple of years, he returned to farm.  Once again, he worked various jobs in valley, but the bush was calling to him. At the time of his passing, he was employed with Cober Logging and farming with his dad. We heard a lot of good stories about his boss and coworkers and how beautiful the scenery in the bush was. Cam’s life revolved around people.  A stranger was just a friend he hadn’t met yet.

He enjoyed many camping and hunting trips with the guys and spent hours up at the lake with his family. He was always the first one to instigate a water fight or start throwing the great nieces and nephew into the lake!  His ice fishing shack sat right below Jim and Claudia’s cabin.

Cameron will be greatly missed by his parents Eugene and Lara Kobelka, sister and brother-in-law Claudia and Jim Sutherland, and their children Kristy (Tyler) Ashcroft, and great nieces Sam, Lily, and Celia, Tyler (Caitlynd) Sutherland and their children Kaleb, Macie, and Maddie, brother-in-law Rodney Mullin and nephews Matthew (Arletha)Mullin, and daughter Lilla, Dylan (Kamryn) Mullin, Zac (Carleigh) Mullin, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Cam was predeceased by his sister Angela Mullin, brother Ashley Kobelka, grandparents Ella and Otto Johnson, Fred and Mary Kobelka.
