ELAINE JOSEPHSON (née MUIR)

1946 - 2026
 

 

Elaine Josephson, born in 1946 in the Swan River Valley, MB, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026. She was predeceased by her parents, Nora and Maurice Muir, her sister Teresa Muir, and her brother Allan Muir. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Robert Josephson; her children Kris (Deanna) and their children Maya, Erik, and Ethan; Kaare (Patience) and their daughter Isabel; and Kara (Shawn) and their daughter Eleanor. Also survived by brother Gordon.

Elaine spent her early years in the Swan River Valley before moving to Winnipeg during high school. She completed her teaching degree at the University of Winnipeg and taught in communities across Manitoba and Saskatchewan. A devoted teacher, she took pride in her students’ learning and progress.

Elaine married Robert Josephson in 1975, and together they farmed in the Alpine, MB area. She took pride in creating a warm and comfortable home. Elaine was involved in the church in Alpine as well as the United Church in Benito. She enjoyed gardening and reading and was well known for her cooking and baking. Elaine also spent many hours in hockey rinks and ball diamonds supporting family.

 

She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, travelling, and wintering in Arizona and B.C. creating lasting memories.

 

Elaine was very grateful for the care she received at the Benito Personal Care Home.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
