On December 22, 2021, Daniel “Jazz” Cote of Pine Creek, Manitoba formerly of Barrows, Manitoba passed away at the age of 67 years, with his family by his side.
Jazz was born on September 18, 1954, in Barrows, Manitoba to the Late Doreen and Joe Cote. He went to school in Barrows and then to Cranberry Portage after that. He had resided in a few p[laces, making Pine Creek his final residence.
Throughout the years Jazz had talents for baseball, golfing, and enjoyed coaching, especially the teams to which his sons played on. His favorite past time were times with his grandchildren and fishing for master angler lake trout or rather just fishing in general with a sly tongue to match. The man had technique for anything he ever did from pitching with/ for the best of them to his macaroni/ tomato soup with peppers.
Jazz had known many people from all over. In his younger years, it was through baseball. He played for Porcupine United, McKay United, the Gophers, just to name a few.
Left to mourn his passing are his children, Scott (Cherly) of The Pas, MB, Doreen (Edwin) of Brandon, MB, Nelson (Roxanne) of The Pas, MB, Christy Lee of Swan River, MB, Jay (Myrna) of Brandon, MB, Tyler (Dakota) of Pine Creek, MB, 20 Grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. He is also survived by his brother Armand (Gloria) of The Pas, MB and Myrna (Keith) of Mafeking, MB and many friends and extended family.
Lastly Jazz was predeceased by his mother Doreen and his brother Allan and then by his dad Joe.
Jazz’s last wishes were to be laid to rest by his mother at the Whispering Pines Cemetery in Barrows, MB.
Wake service was held January 5, 2022, at the Barrows Community Hall, Barrows, MB at 2:00. Funeral service will be held in the spring of 2022 with announcement to follow.
