It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, sister-in-law, auntie, cousin, mother-in-law, wife, and good friend, Debbie Ballantyne.
Debbie was born in Swan River on August 10, 1955, to Clifford and Martha Barker. Over the years she spent time living in Mafeking, Barrows, Edmonton, Leduc, Grand Rapids and Swan River.
She took courses to be a health care aide and home care attendant, but eventually settled on being a homemaker. On October 13, 1990, she married her beloved Rubin Ballantyne. She loved spending time with her family and adored all her grandbabies. When she was well enough to go, she loved bingos and visiting friends. She loved Old Time country music, reading from her bible, and going to church.
After a long struggle recovering from numerous strokes which caused her many mobility issues, she passed away on October 29, 2022.
Debbie is survived by son Adrian (Nancy) Geary, grandkids Logan, Evelyn and Marlee. Son Jeffrey (Crystal) Geary, grandkids Izabelle and Elena. daughter Victoria (Ashley) Ballantyne, granddaughter Rebecca.

Debbie's family would like to thank the staff at the Swan Valley health center and the Swan Valley Lodge personal care home for their care and professionalism over the last few years. Also thank you to all the friends and family for their monetary and food donations during this difficult time. If we forgot to mention someone it was not intentional.
