1996 – 2020

On Thursday, September 24, 2020, Dennis Ferland of Swan River, Manitoba, formerly of Briggs Spur, Manitoba passed away at the age of 24 years.

Dennis was born on June 28, 1996 to Jeanne Ferland, formerly of Briggs Spur. Sadly, Dennis’ mom passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2004. Dennis was then raised by his grandparents, Olive Ferland and George Chartrand. George passed away on January 30, 2017. Dennis was the youngest in his family. He went to school in Minitonas and Swan River, graduating from the SVRSS in June 2015.

Dennis enjoyed hanging with his friends and family. He loved his baby girl Teresa so much. He worked at Kal Tire at the time of his passing, which he really enjoyed because Dennis’ hobbies were “anything with wheels”. Dennis was always smiling, friendly, polite, and respectful when seeing friends and family.  He had a wonderful sense of humour. He always loved having his cousins, uncles, nephew, nieces, and aunts visit. To his friends he was stubborn and crazy. Coco said, “that was Dennis, just being Dennis”.

Dennis is survived by his precious daughter Teresa; his grandma Olive Ferland; sisters Jackie Ferland and Amanda Ferland; uncles Calvin (Christine), Dave, Gordon (Tracey), and Brad; aunt Brenda (William); and special friend Sage Chief; three nieces Faith, Kaydence, and Jeanne; nephew Dreyven – all of whom he loved very much. Dennis is predeceased by his grandpa George Chartrand; mother Jeanne Ferland; great grandparents Art and Lizzie Ferland; and his best friend Choncho.

A private family visitation and graveside service was held with Father Norberto Monton officiating.
