Dennis Patience
1939 - 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis Wayne Patience on December 8, 2025, at age 86. Dennis was born in Nordvall’s Nursing Home in Birch River on July 15, 1939, to Jack and Esther Patience. He attended the Lens School until Grade 10 then helped on his parents’ farm, later logging with brother Don, and finally going to work at the mine in Thompson in 1961.
He married the girl next door, Bernice Hrycyk in 1966 and they lived in Thompson where Curtis was born in 1972. That spring they made the move back to farm in Lenswood to help his father-in-law. This became their forever home. He loved the life of a farmer and working with the cattle. In 1974 Tanya was born. This completed his family! He was actively involved on the farm until age 80 when he handed the reigns over to his son-in-law, Mel. He then became the chauffeur moving men and equipment from one field to the other. He loved seeing the boys all in the field working.
He was a man of few words but showed his unconditional love through quiet actions.
He was so proud of his kids and grandkids, Morgan, Jorja, Lincoln, Claire and Daniel and who they have become.
In August of this year, he was blessed to meet his great granddaughter, Wrenley.
His life was a life of simple contentment. He loved the farm, dancing, baseball, curling and of course bingo. Not a world traveler but the trip to Nashville was much enjoyed.
Leaving behind to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted wife, Bernice, and children Curtis (Lynda), Tanya (late Mel), grandchildren Daniel (Jan), Claire, Morgan (Hailey), Jorja, Lincoln and great granddaughter Wrenley.
He is reunited with his parents, Jack & Esther, in laws, Harry & Lena, siblings Don, Audrey, Carolyn, and Myrna, son in law Mel and many other family members.
Donations can be made in Dennis’s memory to the Bowsman Cemetery Box 268 Bowsman, MB R0L 0H0 or to the Crandell Cemetery Box 216 Birch River, MB R0L 0E0.
