Diane Kroeker Obituary

Diane Kroeker

1953 - 2025

Diane Kroeker passed away on February 12, 2025, at the UCHealth Longs Peak hospital in Longmont, CO at the age of 71 years with family by her side.

Carol Diane Farough was born in the R.M. Of Glenwood, MB on July 24, 1953. She was the 2nd child to Raymond and Marrian (Coulter) Farough. Diane grew up on the family farm northeast of Elgin with her siblings Donna, Lorna and Merv.

Diane attended Elgin School and graduated from Souris Collegiate. Shortly after graduation, she attended nursing school and became a registered psychiatric nurse in Brandon, MB. Diane had a wonderful gift of listening in a unique way.

In 1972, Diane welcomed her 1st son, Michael. Alvin and Diane met in 1979 and were married months later on November 9, 1979. They then moved to Birch River and approximately 9 months later welcomed Rebecca, four years after, Ben was born.

The transition from a city-life career to a small-town farm wife was a big adjustment. But just as Diane did with every transition in her life, she embraced it fully.

Diane was a dedicated friend and community member. She enjoyed serving at the local thrift store, community Bingo, Christian Fellowship church and wherever else her “Martha Stewart” skills could be used.

Diane’s journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion and deep-rooted faith in God. She thoroughly enjoyed serving others. There were many hours spent gathered around her kitchen table fellowshipping and enjoying her delicious meals.

She is survived by her loving husband Alvin and children: Michael, Becky (Tyler) and Ben (Jennifer). She is also survived by her grandchildren Sara, Derek, Ben, Emmalee, Jasmine, Alex and Julia. Also, her siblings Donna (Grant), Lorna (Brad) and Merv (Millie) and many nieces and nephews.

Diane was predeceased by her parents Raymond and Marrian Farough.
