On May 13, 2022, Donald Charles Spicer passed away at the age of 84 years.
Don attended Roaring River School and Swan River High School. He farmed and was a plumber for Fred Betcher and Leonard Trevellyan. He was also an ice technician.
Don met the love of his life, Lorna Sigurdson in 1960 and they were married June 27, 1964.
He loved curling, fishing, and playing cribbage. Don inspired his children and grandchildren to love curling as much as he did. He loved his family very much and his grandchildren were the apple of his eye. Don loved apple pie with cheese. He always said;” Apple pie without the cheese is like a kiss without the squeeze”. Next time you have apple pie please think of him.
Don is survived by his loving wife Lorna (nee Sigurdson) of 57 years, children Wendy (Terry) Proctor of Woodlands, MB grandchildren Dana (Michael Heller) Proctor of Winnipeg, MB, Devon Proctor of Woodlands, MB, Grant (Rhonda Goudy) Spicer of Swan River, MB, brother Howard (Donna) Spicer of Ijamsville, Maryland, USA, sister Doreen (Edward) Sage of Neepawa, MB, in law’s Glen and Sharon Campbell of Swan River, MB, nieces and nephews Catherine Sage, Joanne ( Doug) Dusik, Robert Spicer, Victor Spicer, Ryan Spicer, Colin ( Cathy) Campbell, Denise ( Andy Van Patter) Campbell.
Don is predeceased by his parents, Victor and Muriel Spicer, brother Lloyd Spicer and sister in law Ailsa Spicer, father and mother in law John and Dora Sigurdson.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a family internment.
