Edward “John Devil” of Barrows, Manitoba passed away January 9, 2022, at the age of 64.
John was born in Swan River, Manitoba on January 27, 1957, to Martha Genaille and George Ducharme. Growing up from childhood to adulthood, John lived in National Mills, Baden, and Barrows. John worked in Baden and Barrows for several years. He was employed as a fire fighter and guide for outfitters in Mafeking. John married Alice Mink on January 29, 2000. John enjoyed quadding, skidooing, and cutting firewood. He also enjoyed doing mechanic work as well as enjoyed spending time with family and his friends.
John is survived by his wife Alice and granddaughters Kaylin and Ebony. He also leases to mourn his passing four brothers and four sisters, Walter (Sandra) Ducharme of Barrows, Manitoba, George Ducharme of Birch River, Manitoba, Garry (Marlene) Genaille of Birch River, Manitoba, and Richard (Alec) Ducharme of Swan River, Manitoba, Virginia Atchison of Lloydminister, Saskatchewan, Marilyn Bourassa of Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan, Sally (Charles) Genaille of The Pas, Manitoba, Eileen (Douglas) Chamberlain of Red Deer Lake, Manitoba.
He is predeceased by his mother Martha Genaille and brothers David Genaille, Leon Genaille, Arthur Genaille, Stanley Ducharme, and sister in law Thema (Clown) Ducharme.
A wake was held Thursday, January 27, 2022 from the
Barrows Community Hall, Barrows, MB at 2:00PM
A funeral service was held Friday, January 28, 2022 from the
Barrows Community Hall, Barrows, MB at 1:00 PM
Everyone attending the services are required to provide proof of vaccination
