The family are saddened beyond words to announce the death of Edwin Harold Crook of Benito, MB. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday April 30, 2022, at the Swan Valley Health Center. Edwin is now at peace after a long and valiant fight against cancer.
Edwin Harold Crook was born October 11, 1950, to Harold and Nora Crook of Medora, MB. Edwin spent his early years in the Medora area prior to moving with his family to the new family farm outside of Durban, MB. Edwin obtained formal schooling in Durban and Benito Collegiate prior to attending Swan River High School. It was in Benito, where Dad met his wife and life partner Camella Mae Mazuren.
Ed took over the family farm following the death of his father and continued to farm until his retirement. Edwin loved the Swan Valley and called it home for 68 years. Dad loved to travel and spend time with family and loved ones. Many summers were spent in British Columbia visiting with his sister Shirley and family. Spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren was his joy in life. His Christian walk was also very important to him as he attended St. Paul’s, Benito prior to St. James Anglican Church, Swan River, where he participated heavily in church functions and activities. He loved photography and wouldn’t miss a fishing trip.
Edwin was pre-deceased by his father Harold and mother Nora, uncles Gilbert and Ralph Martin of Thunderhill, Manitoba.
Ed leaves to mourn him, his wife Camie and children Arla (Shane), Kenton (Adele) and
Nayla (Dale), along with 3 grandchildren (Halle, Samara and Maisie), sister Shirley (Stan) Karson and family. His many friends and extended family will mourn Edwin and love him forever.
The family thanks all friends and family for their thoughts, phone calls and prayers in this very difficult time.
A summer funeral service is being planned, to be announced later.
