Elsie Woloshyn
1930 – 2026
The family of Elsie Woloshyn are sad to announce the passing of Elsie on May 16, 2026, at the Swan River Valley Personal Care Home, she was 95. Elsie was born on November 15, 1930, to William and Anne (nee Prokopchuk) Bodnaryk at Veregin, Saskatchewan. In 1940 the family moved to Big Woody and then in 1945 moved to Swan River.
In 1947 Elsie attended the Marvel Hairdressing School in Winnipeg and received her certificate to hairdressing. On November 3, 1951, Elsie married John Woloshyn, and they began their farming life together and raised three children.
Retiring from the farm life Elsie worked at the Sunshine Bakery, Cooked at the Swan River Bus Depot and Skyline Hotel. Elsie then received her Health Care Certificate and worked at the Swan River PCH for 10 years.
After retirement Mom and Dad took several holidays west to visit family and to Tennessee to visit their daughter.
In 2021 Elsie moved to the Swan River Valley PCH.
Elsie will be missed and remembered by her son Brian (Arlene), daughters Darlene (Ken) Rumancik and Marilyn Pacamaniuk, and was blessed with 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, as well as 2 brothers Eddy, Wesley and sister Evelyn Prysianziuk and their families.
Elsie was predeseased by her parents, husband John, granddaughter Twyla Woloshyn, son-in-law Walter Pacamaniuk, brother Fred and sister Mary Waywitka.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Elsie may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
