Erna Fiks

1924 – 2024

Erna passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 18, 2024, just 24 days after her 100th birthday celebration with family and friends.

Erna was born in Porosow, Poland and immigrated to Canada with her six brothers and her mother in 1948. They settled in Minitonas and on July 19, 1949 she married William Fiks. They raised four children.

Erna loved the Lord and sharing her faith. She diligently prayed for her family. Erna was a woman of many talents, from cooking, sewing, quilting, and gardening. Recent favourite past times have been bible studies, reading and word search. She was amazingly talented at doing jig saw puzzles.

Erna was predeceased by her husband William in 2014, her sisters Lidia Pohl and Adina Scheibler, brothers Walter, Carl, and Joe Pohl, son in law Harold Krahnke, grand daughter Deanne Krahnke, and son in law Ian McClay.

Left to treasure her memory are her children Betty McClay, Rose Krahnke, Doris (Brian) McKay and Larry Fiks, her grand children Tracey (Frank) Lacroix, Chris (Lay Kin) McClay, Scott McClay, Tyler (Megan) McKay,and Jarred (Kaitlyn) Mckay, great grand children Marissa, Evan and Owen McClay.

We will miss you Mom and Oma!
