Garry was born in Kamsack, SK on July 12, 1950, to John and Helen Boychuk. He started school at McGillvary country school south of Kamsack. He moved to Lenswood in 1962 and attended Little Creek country school and then Birch River Collegiate. He went to university for one year in Winnipeg then took electrical in The Pas. He worked out mainly in the mining and construction industry from western Canada to eastern Canada and from northern Canada all the way down to Louisiana, USA and many places in between. He was an electrician by trade but also took on many jobs as a heavy-duty mechanic, welder, carpenter and plumber. He always took great pride in all his accomplishments. Growing up on the family farm he did his fair share of chores and picked a lot of rocks by hand and pitched a lot of bales. He was very handy on the farm at repairing equipment and constructing various farm buildings. He loved trap shooting, fishing, hunting, and took many long walks along bush trails just to enjoy the scenery. He retired at age 65 but his failing health gradually slowed him down from enjoying his hobbies and the great outdoors. He also enjoyed lengthy conversations with his friends. He was an avid reader and if you could stump him on any subject he would go home and research it. He seemed a little rough around the edges at times but deep down he was a kind and caring person and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. He could even be a little mischievous at times and had a good sense of humor although you rarely saw that side of him. Garry was predeceased by his parents John (2016), Helen (1998) and his brothers Bob (2010), Jerry (2022). He leaves to mourn his passing his sister Connie (Dave) Forbes, his brother Dale (Cindy) Boychuk and his nephews and niece, also many extended family members and friends. We love you and will deeply miss you dear brother, uncle, and friend.
