Glenn was predeceased by his wife Betty (Feere), Mom Gertie, Father Harry, sisters Arlie Beattie and Ariel Kennedy and grandson Braedon Fahrenschon.
Glenn was a hardworking man with the biggest heart. He often would give food, work and shelter to those who needed it.
Glenn worked for MacDonald’s Consolidated (Safeway) for 37 years in the Swan River Warehouse and later travelled the Parkland and Saskatchewan region where he called on numerous stores and restaurants with kindness and professional service and made sure that their needs were met.
In the meantime he farmed 3 quarters of land in Pretty Valley and occasionally raised livestock. Glenn enjoyed the challenge of moving buildings from small sheds to large barns often timing the moving to avoid the authorities. He loved nothing better that a good auction sale and over the years bought, traded and bartered equipment and anything else of value (sometimes value only to him). Auctioneers knew his bid tactics and most often the crowd would not know he was bidding until they heard the auctioneer say “sold to Glenn”!
In his early years he enjoyed curling and snowmobiling and prior to leaving the farm he loved to tinker in his shop building wood splitters and overseeing friends and relatives repair their equipment. Many of his friends would often stop by for a “liquid visit”! In later years he enjoyed trips to the country to do a crop inspection with Edna, Leone and Ab Sigurdson and trips to the legion for the Meat Draw where he was a long time member. But above all else Dad loved and enjoyed his family and friends. They were his greatest joy!
Pallbearers were his 6 grandchildren, Brock Gordon, Melainee Glass, Kristin Hulme, Robyn Gardner, Jayde and Jenna Fahrenschon. Honorary pallbearers were Ab and Leone Sigurdson, Brian Zander, William (Spud) Ledoux and Brett LeBeau
A funeral service was held from the St. James Anglican Church, Swan River, Manitoba on Wednesday May 30, 2018 at 11:00 am with Pastor Bob Lewis officiating. Interment followed in the Birchwood Cemetery, Swan River, Manitoba.
