Gordon Mullin Obituary

It is with great sadness that the Mullin family announces the passing of Gordon Berway Mullin on August 27, 2022.

Gordon was born on August 2, 1932 and would be the first of 6 children born to parents Berway and Volda Mullin.

Gordon was born in Bowsman and attended school in the Wildrose District and Bowsman up to grade 9. He started farming right away but with a great encouragement from his mom, he attended the University of Manitoba to complete his education in agriculture.

Being Gordon, he was not just a farmer of crops; he had to have cattle, pigs, chickens, ducks, and other various critters. Milking cows was a favourite pastime for the family.

Gordon married the love of his life Frances on December 19, 1953. They were blessed with 3 children: Larry, Cindee and Blair.

Gordon retired from farming and he and Fran moved into town. Gordon took to being a real-estate agent, a crop insurance adjuster, and sold farm equipment. He also worked for LP doing various tasks from parts all the way to janitorial services, and security for the local holding cell.

Gordon had a great community spirit. He was active in the Bowsman Lions Club, the Bowsman United Church, the Wellman Lake United Church Camp, the Swan River Rotary and he was the coach for many sporting events.

Gordon loved to fish, had a passion for gardening, planes and photography. The photo bug he has managed to pass on to his grandchildren and he was very proud of this.

Gordon suffered a stroke 12 years ago, leaving him with a disability and without the ability to speak. Although he made sure you could tell if he was happy, sad, or just plain pissed off.

Gordon leaves to mourn his wife of 68 years - Frances Georgina (Laidlaw) Mullin; his children: Larry Mullin of Drumheller; Cindee Laverge of Winnipeg and Blair Mullin of Swan River.

His brothers and sister: Gaylene (Norm) Thomson, Morley (Mia) Mullin, Archie (Georgina) Mullin, Dewitt (Marie) Mullin, Donnie (Fanny) Mullin, 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
