Howard “Ross” Atkinson

1961 - 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce that Ross Atkinson peacefully passed away with his family by his side at the Swan Valley Health Centre in Swan River, MB on June 4, 2025.

Ross was predeceased by his parents Ray and Pat Atkinson; brother Terry; brother-in-law Poochie; Granddaughters Madison and Sadies and Grandson Aven.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sylvia; and children Ashley (Justin), Tiffany (Curtis), Lukas (Liz), Justin, Kristen (Karter) and Austin; grandchildren Hailey, Carter, Carson, Bentley, Maddy, Ava, Allie Bree, Peyton, Macy and Anika; great grandchild Sage, special niece Jenny and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ross was born in Unity Saskatchewan and moved to Swan River at the age of 10 years old. Ross graduated high school in 1978. Right out of high school at the age of 18 he started working for highways. He took over the family Atkinson Sporting Goods store in Swan River, MB May 1993. Ross retired January 2021.

In his free time Ross enjoyed his passion for golf. There weren’t many days you wouldn’t find Ross at the golf course smashing balls. Ross loved his hockey and NFL Sundays.

Thank you, Ross, for the wonderful memories, you will be sorely missed and always lovingly remembered.
