Hugh Griffith Obituary

Today we remember 'Hugh” husband for 49 years a Dad, Grampa and Great Grandpa

Hugh lived his “Life passion” being a farmer.

Hugh was born August 17, 1929, to Guy & Joanna (Nickel) Griffith the fifth of six children.

During his school years one of his chores was milking before and after school.  And delivering milk around town with his horse and milk wagon. He was very proud of his horse: it knew where to stop and let him gather bottles and move on to the next stop. He did fit in a little hockey and baseball.

Hugh's older sister Edna told us she took him to church once and a while.

Hugh attended Bowsman School till the age of 16 at which time he joined his older brother Jim on road construction.

On March 16, 1952, Hugh married Rosalie Gogal they had two children Terry and Noreen.

When Terry became school age, they built their house on the farm with his older brother “Carl's” help.

For many years he farmed with Carl and his younger brother Will sharing labour and machinery.

As time went by Terry encouraged his Dad to do more fishing. Hugh & Rose would take brother in law Jake Gogal to meet sister in law Josie and Gerald Behrman for camping and fishing trips. Hugh and Rose also enjoyed many holidays throughout the states and Canada. Hugh had the opportunity to get to reconnect with his sister Pearl while she lived with Will for a few years.

Hugh enjoyed his family watching the grandkids grow into adults and making their way in life.

As Hugh slowed down on the farm, he had more time for the great grandkids. He got to work with his fourth generation on the farm that he had spent his “life building”. The Great Grandkids had the opportunity to make quite a connection with Great Grampa.

Hugh was predeceased by his wife “Rose” his grandson in law Kori Hrycyk, his parents, two brothers Jim & his wife Rhita and Carl & his wife Gertie and one sister Pearl, his parents in law John and Anne Gogal, brothers in law Jake Gogal, Dennis Freeman, and Ted Kling.

Hugh leaves his son Terry (Debbie) their family Winston (Mark): Marsha, Jillian and Danica: Erick (Sheena) Kierstin and Everett, daughter Noreen (Danny) Zacharias their family Pam and Darren (Julia) Malia, older sister Edna and a younger brother Will, sisters in law Josie (Gerald) Behrman and Barb Freeman, and many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Hugh's wishes, Cremation has taken place and a Service will be held at a later date.
