Ivan Wyatt Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ivan Norman Wyatt of Mafeking, MB on December 16, 2021 at the age of 76 years.

Ivan was born on January 22, 1945 in Swan River, MB the son of Norman and Reta Wyatt (Hayes). He attended school in Mafeking and Birch River, and later Residential Wiring at the College in The Pas.

On September 20, 1975 he married Grace Parker, and raised their two sons Warren and Bryan in Mafeking.

Ivan was a winter commercial fisherman on Lake Winnipegosis for over 4 decades until enjoying retirement. Among other jobs in his early years, he also worked many summers for MB Highways at The Bog camp (Overflow).

Ivan enjoyed spring trapping, hunting, fishing, berry picking and being around nature. He liked having birds at the feeders, and always made sure there was plenty to eat for the hummingbirds and many kinds of songbirds. Ivan loved his cats, and they never seemed to be far from his side. He was a wonderful gardener, and always took pride in growing things. He looked forward to spring each year so he could get started with flowers and gardening. Being able to share his hobbies with his wife Grace for over 40 years meant so much to them both.

Ivan will be fondly remembered by his sons Warren and Bryan. He will also be remembered by his sister Verna, sisters-in law Joyce, Joan, Carolynn (Orest), Kate (Vern) and Glenda; brother-in-law Gerald (Darlene); sister-in-law Lynda; brother-in-law Greg. As well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Ivan was predeceased by his wife Grace; parents Norman and Reta; brothers Robert and Delbert; and sister Doreen.

He may be gone, but will forever live on in our hearts. All of the wonderful memories we have of you will never be forgotten.

In keeping with Ivan’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be held at this time.
