Jessie Isabel Agnes Butterfield
(Lindsay)
March 10, 1927 – June 24, 2020
Jessie passed away at the Wawanesa Personal Care Home on June 24, 2020. She was born in the Shell River Municipality at the family farm near Makeroff, Manitoba, on March 10, 1927 to John and Jessie Lindsay. Jessie was the second youngest of six children.
Jessie spent her childhood on the farm, attending school in Makeroff with her high school years in Roblin, Manitoba. Upon completion of high school, she attended the Manitoba Normal School in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Later in life she completed her Special Education Certificate from Brandon University. Her teaching career began in the Roblin and Russell area in the country schools culminating in the Swan Valley School Division in 1978.
Mom spent many an hour sewing for her family and herself, with beautiful results. She enjoyed gardening, and many crafts. Jessie was active in the Royal Purple, Rebekah Lodge, and the UCW. She was a 4-H leader, and also involved with the Brownie Program. If Dad was involved in something, you just knew Mom was working tirelessly in the background making sure things ran smoothly.
Jessie and Jim enjoyed travelling seeing many places and meeting new people.
