John Fedorchuk Obituary

John Fedorchuk

1927 – 2020

The family of John Fedorchuk sadly announce his passing on December 18, 2020 at the age of 93.

He was born September 6, 1927 on the family farm in Whitebeech, Saskatchewan in the RM of Livingston to Peter and Bessie Fedorchuk. He was the oldest of twelve children.

John married Cecilia Bobinski on May 29, 1976 in Swan River, Manitoba.

He started to work at a very young age at home to help the family on the farm. He continued to help people all his life. As he got older, he had his own land to farm. Then he went to work for Stadnick Logging and eventually started working for the mill in The Pas, Manitoba. Working there he did many different jobs like running a chainsaw to cut wood and then ran a slasher. He worked there for many years until he retired. Wherever he worked, he always carried his love for farming.

A bonus to working up north was the many evenings he got to spend fishing which he really enjoyed. After retirement he spent many summers tending to his large garden. He planted out at his brother Ed’s farm, along with the smaller garden in town.

John and Krista had a phrase they would say at the end of their visits. She would say she was going, and he would reply with “see you later alligator”; she would then reply, “after while crocodile!”

John will be lovingly remembered by his wife Cecilia (Bobinski) Fedorchuk; sons, Randy Fedorchuk, Gordon Fedorchuk; daughter, Krista (Cody) Manchester; grandchildren, Donavyn Meadows, Jayden Meadows, Leyna Manchester and Kylee Manchester; sister, Evelyn Pilat, Marianne (Sandy) Miller, Vickie (Jerry) Dominato; brothers, Mike (Phyllis) Fedorchuk, Stan (Louise) Fedorchuk, Ed Fedorchuk; sisters in law, Rose Fedorchuk and Liz Fedorchuk; brothers in law Dallas Bobinski and Syl Bobinski; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

John was predeceased by his parents Peter and Bessie Fedorchuk; parents in law Anthony and Annie Bobinski; sisters, Emily Stadnick and Jan Perrick; brothers, Nick Fedorchuk, Walter Fedorchuk, Bill Fedorchuk; sisters in law Jean Fedorchuk and Katherine Bobinski; brothers in law, Mike Stadnick, Pete Perrick, Tony Pilat, and Ray Bobinski; niece Sherri; and nephews Peter and Barry.

He will always be loved and remembered!

In keeping with John’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held.
