John Edward Stephenson
1945 – 2021
John was born to June and Ross Stephenson in The Pas, Manitoba in 1945 and from then on, I’m sure there were many stories. (His best friend, Bob said he should write a book.)
All of John’s life, trucking was a very big part of it, lots of long days, long nights, and many many miles. Many of his trucking friends were friends forever.
He had a million stories; and one of them was ditching his truck and trailer to avoid a collision with a school bus on icy roads. A hero in my mind.
John was a very loving and passionate person. At home he had an amazing train set going, but he also had grandchildren to tease that he had a laser finger, chocolate covered ants, and olive for them which he claimed was the greatest treat.
He will be very missed by many people (I wish I could name them all); his loving wife of 41 years Dianne, who he taught to drive truck; his two sons Randy (Sherry), and Derek (Cathy); his grandchildren Kennedy (Riley), Hailey (Chad), Carter, Emily (James), Ryan, Konnor, Britany (Cody), and Garrett (Laura); his five great grandchildren Everitt, Milo, Matthew, Sofia, and Isaac (who he also would have fed chocolate covered ants to). He will also be missed by his sister June (Cliff); brother Ken; and his nieces Lori, Karen, and Melinda.
He was predeceased by his mother, father, and sister Kody.
May his memory be his legacy; will love and miss him forever.
If friends so desire, donations in John’s memory may be made to Parkinson Canada, 316-4211 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON, M2P 2A9.
