Kathleen Kluke Obituary

It is with sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Kathleen Marie Kluke, on March 13, 2025, at the Benito Personal Care Home.

Kathleen was the 10th child of 12, born to William and Ruby Rody, in Grandview, MB, on May 19, 1943.  She grew up in the Pleasant Valley area and attended Halton School.   Mom worked odd jobs until she married and moved to Thompson, MB.  She had 4 boys, Kelly, Lee, Shannon and Shane Dayson.  The family relocated to Benito and it was here she met and fell in love with Eugene Kluke.  Kathleen and Eugene were married on August 19, 1982.  Kathleen’s family was completed with the birth of 2 daughters, Kyla and Rubieann.

Kathleen worked for many years at the Gateway and made many life long friends.  She was always there to pour a cup a coffee and enjoy a cigarette with anyone.

Kathleen loved to dance and never missed an opportunity to attend a dance in Vesna, Alpine, Swan Plain or wherever one was happening.  She liked going to dance competitions and watching the girl’s Ukrainian dance.  She loved to play horseshoe and liked to challenge any competitor to a match.

Kathleen was a social person and liked to be out visiting with good friends Faye and Ron Sorrell and Jean and Ernie Eagle.  She liked gathering with the ladies for afternoon coffee dates at M & M’s.  She also enjoyed dabbing a few bingo cards in her day.  She liked the fellowship and friendships made while living in Thunder Hill Courts.

She is survived by her sons, Kelly (Mariana), Shannon (Veronica), Shane (Tanya), her daughters, Kyla (Darrell), Rubieann (Ken), daughter in law Del Dayson, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.

She is pre-deceased by her husband, Eugene Kluke, son Lee Dayson, parents Willian and Ruby Rody, in laws, Fred and Annie Kluke.

Kathleen was the last of all her siblings to pass which gives us comfort knowing all her brothers and sisters were waiting to greet her once again, alongside all our extended family that awaited her.
