Kori Hrycyk Obituary

Kori Dale Hrycyk

1973 - 2021

On April 24, 2021 at the age of 48, Kori Dale Hrycyk lost his battle with cancer, he passed peacefully at home with his loving family by his side.

Kori was born on April 10, 1973, he is the second born child of Dale and Deloris Hrycyk. Kori spent all of his childhood on their family farm, next door to Baba and Gido (Harry and Lena Hrycyk) in Lenswood, Manitoba.

Kori attended school in Birch River and later attended the Swan Valley High School, at which time he decided academics were not his thing; he decided to instead pursue his passion for farming.

He enjoyed playing sports with his buddies from Lenswood and Birch River.  He played hockey with the Birch River Beavers and later the Birch River Old Timers (even though most of the team was in their 20s).  He always enjoyed playing baseball with the Lenswood Eagles at the annual Father’s Day picnics.

Kori started dating Marsha Griffith in 1993, and later married her on August 2, 2003. They were blessed with two girls: Jillian on April 13, 2005 and Danica on December 6, 2008.  They lived on the family farm in Lenswood until the day he passed.

Kori enjoyed being outdoors, as a child he loved being at Whitefish Lake with his family swimming, fishing and riding his pedal bike. He enjoyed hunting, quading and snowmobiling in the Lenswood back country. Kori could often be found (or not found) hosting a crop tour in the Lenswood-Bowsman area.  The numerous friends that joined him on these tours could tell you a few stories.

He loved the passion that both he and Marsha had for riding horses, they shared this passion with their girls.  He always enjoyed watching the girls at the Swan Valley Rodeo competing in the light horse show.  He was the first one to take pictures of the ribbons the girls won and brag to his friends about the great job they did.

Kori was very proud of the time he spent working in the Arctic, taking pictures as proof and he even had to take a plane to do it!!  He really enjoyed working with Larry and Kolan McKay on their grain farm.

Kori is survived by his loving wife, Marsha Hrycyk; daughters Jillian (Bryson) and Danica; his parents, Dale and Deloris Hrycyk; brother Kelly (Susan) Hrycyk, and their family Kody (Emma), Kassidy (Jon); his sister Krissy (Ian) Mullin and their family Brock (Amy) and Carson; parents in-law Terry and Debbie Griffith; brothers-in-law Winston (Mark) Griffith, Erick (Sheena) Griffith and their family Kierstin and Everett; grandparents Lydia Koop and Hugh Griffith; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Kori was predeceased by his Baba and Gido (Lena and Harry Hrycyk), Grandpa Klaas Koop, and nephew Nickolas Mullin.

Due to Covid 19 restrictions a private memorial service will be held.

If friends so desire, donations in Kori’s memory may be made to
