William Richard Kurt Jentzsch (Kurt)
March 7, 1954 — January 5, 2023
With great sadness, the family announces the passing of Kurt Jentzsch – loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend – in the early hours of January 5, 2023, at the Swan Valley Hospital.
Kurt was born March 7, 1954, in Flin Flon, MB to Richard and Elizabeth Jentzsch. He attended school in Benito, MB and then Swan River, MB at the SVRSS. Kurt worked at many jobs throughout his life, the latest as a butcher for Dave and Wendy Page at Benito Meats – a job he took great pride in. He also spent many years volunteering as a fire fighter at the Benito Fire Department and lending a hand at the Benito Drop-In Centre whenever he could.
Kurt married his beloved wife Kathy (Ball), on May 28, 1983, at the Benito United Church. They were blessed with three beautiful children: Stephanie, David, and Nicole, and on May 6, 2015, blessed again with their first grandchild Jayla – born to David and Tanya.
After having heart surgery in 2007, Kurt spent his time playing pool at the Drop-In Centre, doing crossword puzzles, and going for his daily trip to town for coffee. Most of all, he enjoyed road trips with the family and thankfully was able to make one last trip in August 2022 to Alberta and Saskatchewan to visit sister-in-laws Corinne (Gord) in Okotoks, AB, and Donna (Milton) in Glaslyn, SK.
He is deeply missed by family and friends.
