Lance Paul Moosetail

On Thursday, June 23, 2022, Lance Paul Moosetail passed suddenly at the age of 51. Lance was survived by his children Cassie, Garrett and Blossom; his siblings Cheryl, George, Paula, Jordan, Trevor, Anthony, Candace, Sophia and his mom Lola; his aunties, uncles, numerous nieces, nephews, friends and cousins.

Lance was predeceased by his wife of 20 years Rachel Moosetail, his dad George Moreau, his cousin Clint Moosetail; his aunties Albina and Edna and 5 days later, his auntie Chris; uncles Gordon and Ernie; his grandparents Catherine and Paul Moosetail; his wife’s parents Clifford and Irene Richard and his sister-in-law Norma (Butch) Chartrand. 

Lance was born in Swan River, MB on February 19, 1971, to Lola and George Moreau. Lance grew up at Up West in Pine Creek First Nation with his cousins and siblings. Lance grew up with Rachel and always said he was going to marry her. They were married in Camperville on July 1, 1995, and they were blessed with three beautiful children.

Lance enjoyed spending his spare time fishing with his cousins and buddies at his fishing spots any time of the year. He was a champ fisherman and won many fishing derbies. He loved his boat and enjoyed going out on the lake. Lance worked for Minish in Swan River, MB for over 10 years. He would also help his dad with his brothers in the bush.

In April 2016, Lance became a First Nations Safety Officer for Pine Creek First Nation along with his partner Jamie Sutherland. Lance was the go-to man for everyone in the community, one call or message and he was on his way to help anyone. Everyone in the community loved seeing Lance around, he always had a story to share and would lend a helping hand.

Lance will be terribly missed by all who knew him.
