Larry Woolgar Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, dad & grandpa on June 5, 2022, at the age of 83 years. Larry was born on January 15, 1939, in Rose Valley, SK to Beulah & Leonard Woolgar; the second youngest of four children. Larry met Sharon Brennan in August 1961, swept her off her feet, and married her in July 1962. They settled in Swan River and had three children: Mark, Tara & Todd. Larry started his career with the Department of Highways at the age of 17 where he worked for the next 37 years until his retirement in 1994.

Larry was elected a Life Member of the Kinsmen Club of Swan River in 1982 for his outstanding contribution of Kinsmenship. He enjoyed summers at his cabin at Greenwater Lake fishing, golfing, visiting, and helping his neighbours whenever they asked; or at home puttering in his yard, tending his garden, and of course watching his Riders! Winters were spent with his sons & grandson driving hockey players/equipment to numerous games, hunting, travelling some place warm with Sharon, playing cards, flipping through sports on TV, and watching the Stampeders! Larry was devoted to his family & friends; if they needed anything he was always there. His grandchildren were his pride and joy!

Larry will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 60 years, Sharon, and their three children Mark & Amanda of Kingsville, ON and children Luke, Morgan, Hudson & Cole; Tara & David of Brandon and children Carter (Kaili), Rylee, Ryan (Myla) & Marcus; and Todd of Edmonton and his son Leif. Also, brother Noel Woolgar of Fredericton, NB & his wife Cheryl Tardif, sister Brenda & Gerry Erhardt of Yorkton, brother-in-law Fred Brennan of Peace River, and sister-in-law Dawn Becker of Kelowna. He will be cherished by his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends. Love you best!

Larry was predeceased by his parents Leonard & Beulah Woolgar and sister Bev, as well as many other relatives.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will happen at a later date. If friends so desire, donations in the memory of Larry can be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation 675 McDermot Avenue, Room ON1160, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 0V9.
