Leonard Stanley Trevellyan
1945 - 2025
Leonard Stanley Trevellyan took his last breath with the love of his life by his side on September 10th, 2025, at the Swan Valley Health Center. He was 80 years old.
Len was born to James and Mary Trevellyan on June 4th, 1945, in Kamsack, Saskatchewan. He was raised there with 5 sisters until the family moved to Swan River in 1961. Len completed high school in Swan River then earned a Diploma in Business Administration from the Manitoba Institute of Technology in Winnipeg, MB. His career as an accountant for the Swan Valley Hospital spanned one day. Len needed to step up and support his dad with running the family business, Valley Plumbing & Heating, and so he did. Len completed his plumbing apprenticeship in 1971. The family business continued when Todd joined in 1996 and Ethan in 2022
On August 12, 1972, he married Joyce Love Babiuk. For 53 years, Len and Joyce loved and cherished each other for better or worse, for richer and poorer, in sickness and in health until death parted them.
Len was thrilled to become a father when his son Todd was born and then daughter, Kerri. He was a committed dad who worked his butt off to ensure his family had everything they needed - summers at Madge and Glad Lakes, road trips all over Western Canada for family visits, and all things curling and skating. But nothing brought more joy to Len than the birth of his 4 grandchildren. He absolutely loved babies and children. He was known to tickle noses as they napped in hopes they would wake to share smiles, kisses, and laughter. Grandpa planned many trips to the city with the grandkids for Bomber games, shopping, activities, and a little bit of spoiling.
Len was an Honorary lifetime member of the Swan River Curling Club. He spent many, many winters curling and bonspieling with his crew of buddies from the Curling Club and the Elks Club. Len and Joyce enjoyed mixed curling together for years with special friends, Wilbert and Karen Schoenrath. A notable highlight was winning the1996 Canadian Senior Elks Championship in Lillooet, BC with brother-in-law, Jud Scales, and committed sweepers Alan Brandson and Stan Pawlinsky. Len and Joyce were so pleased to have an extended visit with Karen and Wilbert in Texas a few years ago and loved their trips to Winnipeg for as many Blue Bomber games as possible.
Left to mourn his passing are wife, Joyce, son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Carmel, daughter and son-in-law, Kerri and David Mullin, grandchildren, Ethan (Julie), Owen, Nex, and Bronwyn. Also surviving are sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice &Ted Boyachek, Twyla & Lyle Kastrukoff, Bonnie Trevellyan, Wendy & Daryl Stankewich, and Eugene Babiuk. Len leaves behind 6 nieces and 9 nephews all with families of their own. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary (1982), James (1984), and sister, Marlene Scales (1980).
