Lillian Haggarty Obituary

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Lillian Grace Haggarty on February 18th, 2022, at her home in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
She will be lovingly remembered by her family and many friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Cheryl (Brad) and James (Vicky); grandchildren Melissa, Cody (Melanie), Kaylyn, Dallin, Ryan, Jakob and Jayden; four great-grandchildren Landon, Alex, Kenton and Madeline, and many other relatives and friends.

Lillian was predeceased by her grandchildren Braden and Kent and by her beloved husband Donald James (Jim) Haggarty in January 2018 and has missed him dearly.

Lillian was born on May 16th, 1932, in the R.M. of Minitonas to parents Grace and John Alexander Johnson.

She grew up in the rural area east of Birch River until her teen years when she moved into town to live with her grandfather Peter Johnson. This move enabled her to further her education.

Lillian married Donald James Haggarty on June 19th, 1952, and they settled in Birch River.

She worked for many years in the Toronto Dominion Bank.
Lillian enjoyed an active life and had a youthful energy that she carried with her right up until her sudden passing.

She loved to volunteer in all aspects of her community and was always ready to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed.

Lillian was an avid curler in her younger years and loved to play a good game of cards. Cribbage was a favourite game in which she excelled at winning against many of those who challenged her skills.

She loved to keep busy and enjoyed crafting her many creations. She loved gardening and took pride in having a beautiful variety of floral blooms throughout the season.

Following Jim's passing she moved into Winnipeg to be closer to family.

Rest easy now Mom for your earthly duties are complete and you served all those along your life's journey with grace and benevolence. A job well done and a life well lived has now brought you to your eternal rest.

We will miss you dearly and you will remain in our hearts forever.
