Mark Delbert Colbert
October 20, 1973 - September 26, 2024
On September 26, 2024, Mark Delbert Colbert of Bowsman, Manitoba passed away suddenly at his home at the age of 50 years.
He is survived by his two children, daughter Taylor (Brady Huska) of Gilbert Plains, Manitoba and son Wyatt of Bowsman, his parents Leo and Wilma Colbert, his sister, Zoe (Ryan) Keown of Roblin, Manitoba and nephews Austin, Ethan and Corbin.
Mark was predeceased by his grandparents Dave and Evelyn Colbert, John and Alice Rooks, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Mark attended the Bowsman Elementary School and graduated from the Swan Valley Regional Secondary School. During his younger years, he played hockey and liked swimming and water-skiing at Whitefish Lake. He did lots of trail riding with his parents and sister Zoe, and enjoyed quading and snowmobiling. Mark liked being outdoors and for several years, he farmed with his Dad and also had a business providing firewood for his customers. He also worked for the R.M. of Swan River and very much liked working for Bill Cocks on his farm.
Mark and his ex-common-law partner, Joyce Readman, had two children, Taylor and Wyatt. During their time together, Mark was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2016. This meant many trips to Winnipeg for them in the following years for surgery and appointments. They separated a couple years ago. Mark continued living in Bowsman with Wyatt.
Mark always liked music, in particular AC/DC and older country music. One of his hobbies was building wooden tool boxes and various containers. Mark’s children have chosen one of the containers to be used for his interment. In keeping with his love for AC/DC music, he will be given one last ride in his blue Ford half-ton to the memorial site with the song Thunderstruck playing.
In keeping with the wishes of the family, cremation has taken place and Mark will be laid to rest in the Bowsman Cemetery near his grandparents Dave and Evelyn Colbert and his uncle Delbert Colbert.
