Mary Furdievich
1939 - 2018
Mary Furdievich passed away at the Dauphin Regional Hospital on February 9, 2018 at the age of 78 years.
Mary was born in Cowan, Manitoba on November 8, 1939 and was the eldest of five children by her parents John and Sophie Blazenko.
Mary was a hard working wife and mother who took pride in a fruitful garden, making preserves and of course she loved to prepare many Ukrainian dishes for all to enjoy. She always focused to ensure her five children were well fed and had clean clothes while under her care. She was a private person who enjoyed the straight forward things in life and took great care in keeping her pet dogs, cats, and birds happy. Her Catholic faith was very important in her life, so she was in frequent attendance at her church in Swan River.
Mary is survived by her five children, daughters Carol (Don) Budgen, Sharon Furdievich-Cooper and Angie (Todd) Barteski, all from Calgary, Alberta as well as her sons, Don Furdievich of Calgary and Darren Furdievich (Karen) of Minitonas, Manitoba; her grandchildren Thomas, Jared, Alex, Mykah and Daxton and great granddaughter Skyla; her siblings, Olga (Walter) Wowchuk, Stella (Steve) Wowchuk, Ann Chunick and Tony (Jeanneau) Blazenko; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A prayers service was held from the Chapel of Swan Valley Funeral Services on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. from the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church in Cowan, Manitoba with Rev.
