It is with great sadness that we are announcing the passing of Melinda Cortnee Flett on Oct.23, 2022 at Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute in Edmonton, AB at the young age of 34 years old. Melinda was born Feb.18, 1988 in Winnipeg, MB. Melinda was raised in Swan River, MB, here is where she made a lot of her lifetime friends and acquaintances. She loved band and playing basketball during her school years. She had a passion for drawing and tattooing which she made a small occupation out of. She was an artist in every sense of the word, she could find the beauty in everything. Melinda had a special love for music, some of her favorite artists were Palaye Royale, Andy Black, and Elvis Presley. Melinda was the eldest out of 8, she learned to be tough and strong willed at a young age. Some would say she was stubborn, but she had a voice and was never afraid to speak up to say how she really felt.

Her life really started when she welcomed her pride and joy Emma into this world in the summer of 2006. In the 6 months to follow she met her lifetime partner Christopher Blight. They moved to a small town called Wynyard, SK in 2009 where she would lay her roots. She was a proud mother and would talk lots of her daughter Emma's accomplishments no matter how big or small. She was truly happy with the life her and Christopher had made, he was her biggest supporter.

Those who knew Melinda knew she had a big heart and beautiful soul. Her door was always open to those in need. She has left her mark on her family and those close to her, she is truly missed for we have lost such an amazing Big sister, Mother, Daughter, Auntie and Wife.
