Mike Gnida

September 29, 1933 – February 12, 2026

On Thursday, February 12, 2026, at the age of 92, Mike Gnida passed from this earth and was welcomed into Glory by his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Mike was born September 29, 1933, on the family farm in the Municipality of Minitonas to Fred and Maria Gnida, the fifth of ten children. He began school in Lidstone. After the family moved to Durban, he continued grade 1 to grade 8 in Ruby School and grade 9 in Durban High School. During his grade 9 year he began his farming career with his father, which continued until 2004 when he retired from active farming, then in 2009 moved to Swan River.

In 1960 Mike met Anna Deyneka, the love of his life, and they were married August 4, 1962. They were blessed with two sons, Terry and David.

Mike enjoyed travelling. The family made many trips visiting all the provinces and all the states, including a trip to Hawaii with close friends Len and Joyce.

On January 1, 1957, Mike accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour. His faith was an integral part of his life. He faithfully served in the churches he attended.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Anna, his sons Terry and wife Tracy , David and wife Danya, grandchildren Noah and wife Cleo, and Arianna; brothers Stephen and wife Thelma, Nicholas and wife Lenora; sisters Elizabeth and husband Gustav Dors and Ruth Nina Fischer, sister-in-law Patricia, and many nieces and nephews.

Mike was predeceased by his father Fred, mother Maria, stepmother Lydia, infant son Douglas Samuel, brothers Fred and wife Vera, Alex and wife Annie, Walter and wife Esther and James, and sister Helen in infancy.

Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure…. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure…. Till we meet again at Jesus’ feet.
