Norma Chartrand Obituary

On Thursday August 26, 2021 Mrs. Norma Chartrand (nee Richard) of Camperville, Manitoba passed away following a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 55.

Norma was born to Clifford and Irene Richard in Swan River Manitoba on May 12, 1966. Norma was raised in Camperville alongside her 6 siblings. Norma married Steven Chartrand on July 27, 1991. Together they had 2 children and raised their family in Camperville.  

Norma is survived by her husband Steven Chartrand and their two children Brittany (Paul) Lavallee, and Byron (Krista) Chartrand. Norma is also survived by her siblings Patsy (Vaughn) Clarkson of Mafeking, Margaret (Walter) Chartrand of Camperville, Albert (Anita) Richard of Pine Creek, Gordon (Pam) Richard of Camperville and Douglas (Margaret) Richard of Camperville. Norma is survived by her grandchildren all of which were her special babies, Jackson, Isabella, and Rachel. Norma is also survived by her mother-in-law Mabel Chartrand and her in-laws, Floyd (Marion) Chartrand, William Chartrand, Gloria (Nestor) Chartrand, Marie (John) Lavallee, Thomas Chartrand, and Ernest Chartrand.  Norma is survived by her lifelong friend Gwen Neapew.  

Norma was predeceased by her mother and father Clifford and Irene Richard of Camperville, her father-in-law Louis Chartrand, sister-in-law Tracy Welburn, and brother-in-law Christopher Chartrand.  Norma also lost her best friend, her sister Rachel Moosetail, nephews Jason and Clayton McKay, and Karl Richard.  

The family would also like to thank the staff at Dauphin Regional Health Centre, Western Manitoba Cancer Centre in Brandon, and the Cancer Care staff at Dauphin Regional Health Centre. Thank you, Dr. McMullen, for your care, your patience, and for taking wonderful care of Norma.

Active Pallbearers were Lance Clarkson, Brent Chartrand, Kristopher Richard, Matthew Lavallee, Dylan Chartrand, and Garrett Moosetail.  

Honorary pallbearers were Grandchildren Jackson, Isabella, and Rachel, and all nieces and nephews.
