Norm was born and raised in Flin Flon, Manitoba. He entered the work force at a young age working in construction around Flin Flon along with diamond drilling in the area. In 1969 he hired on with HBM&S and moved to Snow Lake, Manitoba. It was there he evolved into a journeyman miner.
Norm always wanted to be in the country therefore in 1990 he bought an acreage in Pretty Valley just outside of Swan River. He retired from the mine in 2001 and settled on his acreage. Norm spent 30 wonderful years transforming it into a beautiful place to call home. He always wanted animals and a horse and did accomplish his dream.
