It is with profound sadness that the family of Patrick Dean Bartok announce his passing on May 16, 2022. Patrick was the only son and fourth child of five born to Arnold and Evelyn Bartok on March 17, 1965. He grew up on the family farm near the Whitebeech district and attended Arran school. Patrick enjoyed sports including curling and baseball. He also enjoyed his volunteer time with the Benito fire department. A highlight was in 2002 when Patrick curled with the Benito team and they won the Canadian Fire Fighters Championship in Frederiction, NB.
Patrick married Cheryl in 1988. They were blessed with two boys, Chad in 1989 and Colby in 1991. There was no doubt that Patrick loved his family and he loved to spend time with them. Patrick would deliver a double double to Cheryl at work on a regular basis and would help with many little things around the house and yard that meant so much to her. Patrick and Chad spent many hours together at their shop working on trucks, sleds, lawn mowers and basically anything that had a motor. They enjoyed and always looked forward to attending snowmobile races and car shows together and had competed in many including the Canadian Power Toboggan Championships in Beausejour this past March. Patrick and Colby spent much time together working on projects. Colby’s fence project at his old house was a big one and to this day, it is one of the nicest fences in Swan River. They worked well together because they both had the same expectation of the end result - perfection, and perfection it was. Patrick also cared deeply for his mom, Evelyn and would make calls to her often just to chat and see how she was doing. Patrick was deeply saddened at the passing of his father in 2005.
Patrick had farming in his blood and enjoyed farming with his father, Arnold. After a decision to sell the family farm, Patrick continued to work in areas of the agricultural industry and for a number of years at Schullman Farms up until the time of his passing. Patrick was known as a nice guy, as generous and kindhearted. Animals and kids loved Patrick and he certainly enjoyed teasing the little ones and keeping the family pet, Sophie, entertained, as well as giving attention to any animals around him. He was known to be very hardworking and was someone you could count on to do the job well. This could be seen at home - his yard, shop and vehicles were all immaculate. He had the ability to transform and could take things and make them look like something you would have never imagined possible.
Patrick was predeceased by his father, Arnold and brother-in-law, Roger. Patrick leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish memories of him, his wife, Cheryl, his sons, Chad (Brenna) and Colby (Alaynah), his mom, Evelyn, sister Pam (Todd), sister Denise and her children Travis and Cale, sister Loretta and her children Kristin and James, sister Deanna, father and mother-in-law, Mervin and Dolores, brother-in-law, Ricky (Carla) and family, sister-in-law Donna (Gary) and family, brother-in-law Glen (Melissa) and family, brother-in-law Dean (LeeAnn) and family. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Patrick, we find comfort in knowing that you died so peacefully. We also find comfort in knowing that your easy-going nature lives on in both, Chad, and Colby. You are missed so much by many, but especially by Cheryl, your boys, your mom, and your sisters. We and so many
others will forever remember your hearty laugh, your smiling face, and the happiness you brought into all of our lives.
