Pearl Kitzul

1934 - 2023

After a long stay at the Swan Valley Health Centre Pearl Kitzul (Matechuk) succumbed to Chronic Heart Failure, passing away at the age of 88 on November 25th,2023.

Pearl was the youngest of four sisters. They grew up in Playmore, SK. They went to the New Canadian (Verenczanka) S.D. # 264 School. She met Andy Kitzul at a dance one evening.

They were married on October 19th,1952, and started their life together. They moved to Flin Flon, MB. Pearl worked at Johnnie’s Confectionary Store, also taking care of the household and her daughter Charlene. They moved in with her sister Emmy and then they moved to her sister Elsie so that she could help them on their farm. They purchased a farm in Lenswood, MB where they began farming, raising pigs, cattle, and a few horses and they raised their family there.

Pearl loved gardening, canning, cooking, music and playing cards. She continued to play cards with the assistance of her children and grandchildren up until a month ago. She took part in different groups in the community, but worked extremely hard on the farm and this fact left her little spare time for these things. She volunteered as time permitted. She passed on her traditions and skills to her children and grandchildren.

When Reg began his family, Pearl and Andy purchased an acreage south of Kenville, MB and moved. Their last move was to Swan River, where Pearl lived up until August 10th,2023 when she was admitted to Swan Valley Health Centre.

Pearl leaves to mourn: Daughter Charlene (Dave) Boychuk their sons Colin and his daughter Ja’lynn , Justin (Jamie) and their daughter Jane all of Regina, SK. Wanda (Marcel) of Bellsite, MB and their children. Richard Beaudry of Swan River, MB, Jasmine Reeves-Beaudry of Roblin, MB, Noah, Jenora and Ridge of Nanaimo, BC. Andrew Beaudry of Winnipeg, MB, Jennette Beaudry (Will) and children Damian Hart, and Arianna Reeves of Brandon, MB. Mitchell Beaudry of Winnipeg, MB. Miranda Kitzul (Steven) and Shawn of Olds, AB. Rebecca (John) Brundage of Saskatoon, SK. Marcia Kitzul of Flin Flon, MB, Jayde Clendenning of Snow Lake, MB and Hannah Clendenning of Flin Flon, MB.

Pearl was predeceased by her husband Andy Kitzul, her son Reginald Kitzul, and her sisters Emmy Sasynuik, Lena Bodnaryk and Elsie Todoschuk. Pearls parents Mary (Griff) and Ted Matechuk and many aunts, uncles, sister-in-law and brothers-in-law and niece and nephew
