Phyllis Mary (Boles) Devlin

Phyllis Mary Devlin (nee Boles)1924 - 2019   With sadness in our hearts we announce that Phyllis Mary Devlin passed away peacefully on June 15, 2019.Phyllis was born June 24, 1924 to Albert and Ellen Boles in Ochre River, Manitoba where she grew up on their farm. Phyllis married Jim Devlin on July 11, 1946 and they raised their family in Swan River, Manitoba.As well as raising five children, Phyllis worked at a number of businesses in Swan River, including The Valley Hotel, The Co-op Creamery, Sears and lastly, in administration at the Swan Valley School Division Garage where she worked for 21 years until she retired in 1988. Phyllis moved to Calgary, Alberta in 2000.Phyllis loved to curl and was an avid curling fan travelling to many world curling events and making curling friends in many different countries. She also loved to knit and all her grandchildren were the beneficiaries of many gorgeous sweaters.Phyllis was predeceased by husband, Jim, brother and sister, Bill Boles and Vinetta Jahner and step-daughter Kathleen and her husband George Drescher.She will be greatly missed by her children: Jim (Lynne), Bob (Jennetta), Garry, Maureen (Gerry), Shelley (Doug); her grandchildren: Ryan & Gina, Kent (Kim) and Kirk (Tiffany), Gerry and Jessica, Shanna,(James), Scott (Breanne) and Terri (Derek) as well as great grandchildren: Tylan, Hayden, Mason, Miles, Hazel, Ingrid, Sienna and Ayla. As well as her step-son John (Mary) and step-grandchildren: John (Elaine), Jim (Winnie) Karen (Paul) and George, Julie (Bruce) and Joanne (Ross) and all of their children.A graveside service will be held at the Swan River cemetery where Phyllis will be laid to rest next to her husband, Jim, on Monday, August 12, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Anyone who would like to attend is welcome to join the family.Following the service we will be honouring Phyllis with a drink at the Legion and again, anyone that would like to join the family is more than welcome.
