Phyllis Graham Obituary

Phyllis Graham of Bowsman, Manitoba passed away on March 14, 2022, in Dauphin, Manitoba at the age of 80.

She was born October 27, 1941, near Portage La Prairie, Manitoba to Art and Viola Taylor. Phyllis was the second child of their family of seven children.

The Taylor’s were very mobile, so home was many places to them, however they lived the longest in Birch River, Manitoba.

Phyllis made her choice to serve God in 1955 at the age of 14 at Birch River, Manitoba. This choice guided her life in helping her to trust God and his will. It helped her to be “thankful to God “who enabled her “to overcome and endure’”.

After Grade 12, she moved to Birtle, Manitoba where she worked for the summer. She often spoke of the good times that she had there with friends in the area. She went to Brandon, MB that fall where she attended University and received her teacher’s certificate. Throughout her career Phyllis continued to upgrade her Education.  This was not just a career to her but a passion. She loved “her kids” and they loved her.

On April 7, 1966, she married Wayne Graham. They lived most of their life at their farm near Bowsman, Manitoba. With retirement came the decision to move into the town of Bowsman. Phyllis enjoyed reading her Bible, Gospel Music, various crafts and spending time with family and friends.

Phyllis is survived by her loving husband Wayne.  Her children Cleon (Carol) Graham of Rocanville, Saskatchewan and Carmel (David) Wray of Russell, Manitoba. Nine Grandchildren and 8 Greatgrandchildren. Her sister Evelyn (Gilbert) Graham of Swan River, Manitoba, brother Bill (Edith) Taylor of Mayerthorpe, Alberta, brother Stan (Gladys) Taylor of Alberta, brother-in-law Wilf Flobert of Boyle, Alberta, sister Jean (Cecil) Hall of Rocky Mountain House Alberta, Jim (Bev) Taylor of Drayton Valley, Alberta, sister-in-law Marion Graham, Myrna (Murray) Walmsley of Bowsman, Manitoba. And numerous Nephews and Nieces.

She is predeceased by her sister Mildred Flobert, sister-in-law Noelle Taylor, brother-in-law Floyd Graham, niece, Sherry Graham and Sherry’s infant daughter, niece Rhonda Graham, nephews Randy Graham and Owen Graham and great grandchild Reagan Wipf.

The family would like to thank the Swan River Hospital staff, the Swan Valley Funeral Home, the local catering team, all who assisted in so many ways and all who took the time to be present in person or virtually today.
