Raymond Gosselin Obituary

Raymond Gosselin, just saying his name brings so many emotions to mind. He touched so many lives with his beautiful strong voice. He always knew when someone needed a song. His voice could bring a smile to anyone’s face, young or old.

Raymond lost his parents when he was very young, but he was blessed with the love and guidance of Louie, Rita, Freda, Leona, Adrian, Phyllis, Bernadette, Shirley, May, Dennis, and Laura to help him grow into the loving and respectful man we all knew. Knowing many of them were waiting to greet him give’s great pleasure, as we know he will never be alone.

He was also blessed to have so many people in his life who have called him “Son”. Raymond lived for many years with Alex and Bev Bear. He and Bev sang together in Thompson and travelled to entertain many a crowd. To this day Alex still calls him ‘My Boy”. Frank and Marie Vincente were also like another set of parents. Their home was always his home anytime he needed it. Also, his mother-in-law Queenie, from the first time she met him she insisted he call her mom. She adored him. Raymond had two daughters that even though they were not close, he loved them with all his heart and was so proud to say he was their dad. Coming from a large family, his nieces, nephews, and cousins were extra special to him. He was proud to be a member of the F.O.G. Riders, and enjoyed the time spent with the guys. There would be no way to list his friends, as it would number in the hundreds, but if he was your friend consider yourself a very lucky person. Because a truer friend you will never find.

Ray’s life was complete when he found Pam. They built a life together doing the things they enjoyed. They travelled in the winter and camped in the summer, and they lived, and they loved each other unconditionally. And now those memories will be with her forever. Few people can say they have the kind of family that Ray had. To him you did not need to be related by blood, but by love.

Ray lived his life by his own terms, he worked hard, and he played hard. He always said, “I will never live to be an old man, but I will live happy for as long as I have”. And no truer words have ever been said. As he did just that.

Everyone who knew him will remember him for his songs and his stories. His smile and his tight hugs. And as he sang so many times,

“He lived and Died by the Choices he made”

Till we meet again, Fly High and Sing with the Angels, God Bless You.
