With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Scott Marlow at the age of 56.
Scott was born in The Pas. MB on January 8, 1969, and spent his early years on the family
farm. In 1980, the family relocated to a rural area north of Brandon, where Scott’s passion for
hands-on work and his strong connection to the outdoors continued to grow.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Sharron Marlow. He is survived by his longtime
partner, Jennifer Salt; his son, Braeden Marlow (Shelby); his sister, Sheila Marlow; and many
extended family members and close friends who will miss him deeply.
Scott was truly a jack of all trades. Over the years, he worked in many fields—on the farm, in
construction, as a baker, a courier, a long-haul trucker, and an automotive mechanic. There
wasn’t much he couldn’t fix, build, or figure out. In 2021, he took on a new challenge as the
Water Resource Supervisor for the Government of Manitoba in Swan River. Though it was a
role he never expected to land, Scott embraced it wholeheartedly. He quickly became an
integral part of the community, building lasting friendships and earning respect through his
dedication and hard work.
Scott loved the outdoors. He spent his free time hunting, fishing, sledding, camping, and always
tinkering in the shop. He could never sit still for long. If something needed fixing, Scott had a
tool for it—or at least knew where to find one. A familiar face at Princess Auto and Piston Ring,
he was always searching for deals or the right part. He loved gathering with friends over coffee
at the Husky or Chalet, telling stories and sharing laughs.
He was also known for his comfort food, especially his signature carrots and homemade gravy.
He loved to garden and had a soft touch for stray animals, many of whom found a permanent
home with him.
Scott shared a lifelong bond with his sister Sheila. From skating on the river as kids to making
memories with cousins, their connection remained strong throughout their lives.
In 1998, Scott was blessed with his son, Braeden, who brought him immense joy and quickly
became his best friend. Scott was endlessly proud of Braeden, sharing his time, love, and
passions with him. Whether they were working on the house or fixing up their trucks, the two
spent countless hours side by side—building not just projects, but a lifetime of memories
When Jen came into Scott’s life, she completed their little family. The three of them spent time
camping, cruising, and enjoying quiet evenings together. They were often doting over their
beloved fur babies together. Scott and Jen famously fell in love over a two-way radio, and their
dates often started with Scott and Braeden picking her up– Jen always in the middle seat.
Will, miss you, Scott. Rest easy, find that perfect fishing spot, take your river cruise, and
plant your garden in peace.
